When I was a child, my Dad took us on a lot of camping trips. We had so much fun together on those trips. It wasn’t always the cleanest experience, having to do all your business outdoors or occasionally sleeping in a soggy sleeping bag when a sudden summer thunderstorm comes out of nowhere. Regardless, the fun far outweighs the mess! My poor old tent is completely thrashed, so it’s time to finally break down and choose from the selection of Ozark Tents at the sporting goods store. I just trust that brand since my old one lasted for so many years. 

My husband recently bought me several flats of beautiful annuals, and they are exactly what I wanted! One thing that we didn’t realize was that several of the flowers are prone to attracting pests, and that meant we might have to put out slug bait or some other pest deterrent. I was reluctant to do that since we have pets, so we decided to place several plants in a planter and place them around our front walkway. It has been fun to see what arrangement looks best, and my flowers are protected from being eaten. I am looking forward to enjoying my blooms all summer long!

I started jogging again recently and after a couple of days I developed and severe pain on my shins.  I found out it was shin splints.  Alright great, I have shin splints now what was I supposed to do about it.?  Well I found a doc on the internet that seemed to make a lot of sense.  He said that the shin splints are often caused by flat feet.  The flat feet don’t’ allow my legs to work efficiently and as a result my calf muscles ( I have always had huge calf muscles) over-power the shin muscles when I jog.  This causes strain and pain in the shin muscles.  He suggested arch supports to stop the flattening out of the arch.  I bought a pain and I’ll let you know how well they work.  In the meantime I have a great excuse to lay off the jogging for a while.
