My husband Mike works at the local meat market butchering local cows. One afternoon while Mike was working a double shift due to the fact that his relief called in for work that day, he accidentally sliced his pinky finger off. He called me immediately to come pick him up and take him to the nearest hospital. I called his boss Tom and explained what was going on while Mike sought medical attention. His boss faxed an injury claims report to the hospital for Mike to fill out. Mike filled it out and received compensation the next week from his employer. Mike was so happy he did receive compensation because he did not have lots of extra money lying around to pay these medical bills.
