Some Thoughts On “Rugby World Cup: Toughest Battle for the ‘All”
Hi all,
Football in New Zealand is on the rise, however we as Kiwi’s love our rugby also! As the CE of NZ Football, I am loving the rugby world cup..I’m a NZer, why would I not! Sport at highest level in any country is the aspirational element that helps up to get our children away from non active pastimes, and into sports that help their health, teach them how to interact socially, about team work, etc etc…
The melting pot that is the world today means that NZ has seen a vast change in it’s cultural mix. A number of our new NZer’s have long histories in fantasy football advice, that are helping us to grow in technical ability and bring a new level of passion to the beautiful game. It is highly unlikely that India will see football knock cricket off it’s perch as their number one sport, however, we at NZ Football are committed to giving our nation another sport where we can hold our head high on the world stage, and that gives our kids the aspiration to lead a healthy balanced life. Don’t get me wrong, we are Kiwi’s so we love to win, but we know that we can share the space with others for the greater good of our country. Go the All Blacks, go the All Whites, go the football ferns…oh, and go the mighty Vodafone Warriors and Junior Warriors in the NRL grand final this weekend.
Grant…sports mad kiwi with a dream job!
