I have always considered Perth to be one of the crown jewels of down under.  Most Americans never get past the east coast and therefore miss the wonders of Perth.  Who can ever forget walking through the parks and seeing the Black Swans swimming on the lakes?  We always tried to make reservations in one of the cheap perth hotels because they seemed to be closer to where the night life took place.  We could walk to most of the places we wanted to go and never tired to seeing the sights.   Perth was really a mixture of the old and the new.
